Job summary

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting an established energy and industrial operations business in Leicestershire to appoint a Shift Team Leader. This hands-on leadership role oversees 24/7 plant operations and leads a team of operational staff from both the control room and the plant floor.

You will monitor performance using DCS/HMI/SCADA systems, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate start-ups, shutdowns and maintenance with the aim of maximizing reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a power generation or industrial process environment.
• Strong ability to supervise and develop operational personnel with safety focus.
• Familiarity with DCS/HMI/SCADA control systems and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift team to ensure safe, reliable plant operation on a 24/7 basis.
• Monitor plant performance from the control room and site using DCS/HMI/SCADA tech.
• Coordinate start-ups, shutdowns, inspections and routine checks; escalate major risks as needed.
• Oversee minor maintenance, contractor activities and support maintenance to maximise plant availability.
