Job summary

Recruitment Co. is seeking an experienced Shift Team Leader to join a 24/7 energy-from-waste site in South Lanarkshire. You will lead the shift, manage turbines, boilers and associated process equipment via DCS/HMI/SCADA, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

We require strong DCS/SCADA experience, a technical qualification (HNC/NVQ or equivalent) or time-served background, and proven leadership. The role offers up to £53,000 DOE plus a £6k shift allowance and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in power generation, Energy from Waste, biomass, CHP, steam raising or heavy process operations
• Strong DCS, HMI or SCADA experience
• Control room and plant-floor operating experience
• HNC, NVQ or equivalent technical qualification, or strong time-served experience
• Good mechanical awareness and basic fitting skills
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Previous team leadership or team-development experience
• IOSH, NEBOSH, BOAS, Electrical AP or SAP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and efficient shift operations across the plant
• Start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers and process equipment via DCS
• Monitor plant performance and environmental compliance
• Supervise plant rounds, inspections and shift reporting
• Support minor reactive maintenance and process stoppages
• Oversee boiler, cooling and plant water treatment
• Manage, coach and develop the Shift Team
• Coordinate contractors and operational staff where required
• Support continuous improvement of SOPs and plant performance
• Provide shift cover as part of the 24/7 rota
