Job summary

Masstemps is recruiting an experienced Powder Coater for a busy manufacturing site in Kidderminster. You will prepare metal components, apply powder coatings, and ensure surfaces meet quality standards.

You will work 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Friday, on an afternoon/evening shift, with a pay rate of £15-£17 per hour depending on experience. Previous coating or industrial painting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for coating including cleaning and masking.
• Operate powder coating equipment safely.

• Load/unload components from coating line.
• Keep work area clean, safe and well-organised.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Work to production targets with quality.
• Report quality issues or shortages to supervisor.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Powder Coater to join our metal manufacturing client based in Kidderminster.

Working as part of the production team, you will be responsible for preparing metal components and applying powder coatings to a high standard, ensuring finished products meet the required quality and production specifications.

This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, ideal for someone with previous powder coating or industrial painting experience who takes pride in producing a quality finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare metal components for powder coating, including cleaning, masking and surface preparation.


• Operate powder coating equipment safely and effectively.


• Apply powder coating to components in accordance with customer and production requirements.


• Ensure consistent coating thickness, coverage and finish.


• Inspect finished components for defects and carry out any necessary touch-ups or rework.


• Load and unload components from the coating line/racking system.


• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.


• Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements.


• Work to production targets and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.


• Report any quality issues, equipment problems or material shortages to the relevant supervisor.


• Work collaboratively with other members of the production team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in powder coating, industrial painting or a similar manufacturing environment.


• Good understanding of metal preparation and powder coating processes.


• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.


• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.


• Ability to follow instructions and production specifications.


• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.


• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Pay Rate:

£15-£17 per hour based on experience
