Job summary

Royal Mail in Minehead is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 10-month contract at 28 hours per week. The role operates on a 5 days in 7 pattern with a starting rate of £13.68 per hour and paid overtime.

You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and engage with customers while working outdoors in all weather. A full manual UK driving licence is required, with up to 6 points, and you must pass a driving assessment.

Qualifications

Location: Minehead Delivery Office, TA24 5AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 10 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 28:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – between hours of 08:00/16:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work around 1 in 3 Sundays at Taunton Delivery Office.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
