Job summary

Royal Mail’s Keith Delivery Office is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels in Keith. The role is 30 hours per week on a rotating shift, Monday to Saturday, 10:00am–16:00pm, with some weekends and potential assignments to other local offices.

You’ll be trained, provided with a uniform, and work outdoors in all weathers, driving a Royal Mail van daily. A full UK driving licence (max 6 points) is required, along with reliability, fitness, and strong customer

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 6 across Monday - Saturday - 10:00am/16:00pm

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work out of alternative local offices some days to support demand.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
