Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Llandrindod Wells is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our delivery office. This fixed-term role covers 30 hours per week, 5 days in 7, with shifts from 08:30 to 17:00 and a salary of £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime.

You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, building trust with customers. The job is outdoors, physically demanding, and involves weekend work on a rota.

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work Sundays on a rota basis.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
