Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for BORDON. The fixed-term contract runs 9 months, with 37 hours per week on a rotating shift including weekends.

You will sort, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers in the local area. Full training and a uniform are provided; a UK driving licence is required. Overtime is paid.

Location: Bordon Delivery Office, GU35 0HH

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:30 - 15:00 OR 12:00 - 20:00. PLEASE NOTE: times may vary over the Christmas peak and flexibility will be needed for afternoon shifts - this will be discussed in more detail at the interview.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
