Job summary

Royal Mail in Dunbar is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join the team at Dunbar Delivery Office. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, work outdoors in all weathers, and be the face of the service in the local community.

The role is permanent, 30 hours per week on a 5-in-7 rotating shift, with full training provided and a uniform. A full manual UK driving licence is required, with up to 6 penalty points, and the ability to stay active outdoors.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisational skills.

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 10:00am/20:00pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll may be required to work out of a few local delivery offices when demand requires.

What To Expect

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
