Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Edinburgh to join a fast-paced team delivering letters and parcels. You will work 35 hours per week on a rotating schedule, including some weekends, in a fixed-term 6-month contract. A full manual UK driving licence is required, with training provided.

The role involves outdoor work, customer-facing interactions, and the potential for overtime. You will be paid £13.68 per hour, with some overtime opportunities, and a structured shift

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 35:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00am/17:00pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
