Royal Mail in Buckie is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot across local routes, working in all weather and on a rotating shift including weekends.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit to walk long distances, and pass a driving assessment. The role offers training, a uniform, and a company van.

Location: Buckie Delivery Office, AB56 1BA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 6 across Monday - Saturday - 07:00am/17:00pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work out of local neighbouring offices during the busiest periods.

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
