Job summary

Royal Mail Group in the North West Midlands is hiring a fixed-term Postie for 12 months. You will sort letters and parcels at the delivery office, deliver post by van and on foot in your local area, and build friendly relationships with customers. The role is outdoors in all weathers and supports a routine that combines activity with community service.

We provide full training and a uniform. You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and be prepared to drive a Royal

Location: North West Midlands Mc, WV1 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract(12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00AM/15:30PM*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
