Job summary

Royal Mail in Winsford is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, building relationships with customers, in all weathers, on a 30-hour week.

The role includes a rotating shift pattern (including Sundays) with 7:20 to 15:20, a £13.68 per hour rate plus paid overtime, and full training provided. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) and be fit for outdoor work.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:20/15:20*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays 10:30-16:30 on a rota basis.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
