Royal Mail in Sutton Coldfield is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our team on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels, sort mail at the delivery office, and build relationships with customers in your local area.

Working 30 hours per week across Monday to Sunday with a rotating schedule, you’ll be outdoors in all weathers, driving a Royal Mail van, and enjoying pension and wellbeing support as part of a busy, community-focused role.

Job description

Location: Sutton Coldfield Delivery Office, B73 6AG

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/15:00* Wednesdays are from 08:00 to 15:30.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays on a roational basis.

What To Expect

About You

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
