Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Sittingbourne. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers in the community.

The role involves outdoor work, working a 28-hour week across five days, with some weekend shifts and occasional Sunday morning shifts as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

Job description

Location: Sittingbourne Delivery Office, ME10 4AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 28.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 14:00/20:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends.

You’ll be required to work every other Sunday between 09:30 - 15:30.

What To Expect

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
