Job summary

Royal Mail in Mold is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work 30 hours per week across five days with a rotating shift, including Sundays. Duties include sorting mail, delivering by van and on foot, and building customer relationships in all weather.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract, 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday

- Sunday – supporting two separate shifts between 08:00/18:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work 1/3 Sundays at Chester Delivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

- Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

- Working in all weather conditions

- Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels

- Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

- A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)

- Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment

- Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags

- Reliable and self-motivated

- Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment

- Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service

- Comfortable working outdoors and independently
