Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Llandrindod Wells for a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. You'll work 30 hours per week, five days in seven, with a Royal Mail van, delivering letters and parcels and serving the local community.

Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) and ability to pass a driving assessment are required. You must be fit to walk long distances and lift 10 kg+ mailbags, and enjoy working outdoors in all weather.

Location: Llandrindod Wells Delivery Office, LD1 5AP

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:30/17:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work Sundays on a rota basis.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
