Royal Mail in Merthyr Tydfil is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. The role involves delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot, with a 30-hour week across 5 days, including weekend shifts.

Location: Merthyr Tydfil Delivery Office, CF47 0AZ

Job type:

Fixed Term contract, 6 months

Salary:

£13.68 per hour * (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours:

30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – supporting two separate shifts between 07:00/18:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work 2/4 Sundays at Merthyr Tydfil Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
