Job summary

Royal Mail in March is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term nine-month contract. You will sort mail at the office, deliver by van and on foot in the local area, and build relationships with customers while working 37 hours per week across a 5-days-in-7 rota.

The role is outdoors in all weather, with some weekend work and Sundays at Peterborough Delivery Office. Training is provided and a uniform and a red Royal Mail van are supplied.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Location: March Delivery Office, PE15 8AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00/17:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Peterborough Delivery Office.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
