Job summary

Royal Mail Group seeks a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Cambridge to sort letters, deliver parcels, and serve customers on a rotating schedule. The role is fixed-term for 9 months with 37 hours per week, including weekends, and a driving requirement for a Royal Mail van.

You will work outdoors in all weather, walking long distances and building local community relationships while adhering to Royal Mail standards. Full training and a provided uniform are included.

Qualifications

Location: Cambridge Delivery Office, CB1 7QQ

Job type: Fixed Term contract(9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -07.30/16.00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Cambridge Delivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
