Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Hengoed. The role is fixed-term for 6 months, 30 hours weekly, with rotat ing shifts and weekend work. You'll deliver letters and parcels, build customer relationships, and work outdoors in all weather.

A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) is required, plus driving assessment and reliability. Overtime is paid, and the schedule includes Sundays on a rotation basis.

Location: Hengoed Delivery Office, CF82 7YY

Job type: Fixed Termcontract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00/14:00 and12:00/18:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work one in three Sundays at PontypriddDelivery Office working between 12:00/18:00

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags

• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
