Royal Mail Group in Haverfordwest is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels across your local area, working a 30-hour week on a rotating schedule, including weekends.

You'll need a full manual UK driving licence, enjoy outdoor work, and be reliable, self-motivated, and customer-focused. Full training is provided, with benefits and a supportive team.

Location: Haverfordwest Delivery Office, SA61 1XT

Job type: Fixed Term, contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday-Sunday - 07:00-13:00/15:30-19:30*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You may be required to work Sundays on a rotas basis.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
