Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Goole. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, working on a rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday, with 30 hours per week and 5 days in 7.

Location: Goole Delivery Office, DN14 6DA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00/16:00*

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Goole Delivery Office.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
