Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) at Fleet Delivery Office. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels, working in a rotating schedule across days including some weekends.

Expect outdoor work, a uniform and a driving assessment. Full manual UK licence is required and the role offers benefits and overtime opportunities.

Location: Fleet Delivery Office, GU51 3BQ

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00 to 13:00 or 13:00 to 20:00. A more speicific rota will be given in more detail at the interview.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays on occasion.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
