Royal Mail in Fort Augustus is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term contract. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather. The role involves a rotating shift, some weekend work, and a driving assessment.

You'll receive full training, a uniform, and the iconic red van. The position offers 17.5 hours per week with pay of £13.68 per hour, plus overtime. Location: Fort Augustus.

Qualifications

Job type: Fixed Term contract (xx months) (amend/delete if not applicable)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 17:30 hours per week – working (X) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 8.30/12.00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
