Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Kinross is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot in your local area, and build relationships with customers on a 30-hour week at £13.68 per hour with overtime.

You’ll work a rotating shift, including Sundays, outdoors in all weather, with full training and a focus on reliable, customer-focused delivery work that offers routine and variety.

Location: Kinross Delivery Office, KY13 8AR

Job type: Fixed Termcontract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 10:30/16:30*

Postie (Postal Delivery Driver)

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays as per the rota.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

**As a Postie, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
