Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Exmouth to sort and deliver letters and parcels within a route, building strong customer relationships. The role involves outdoor work in all weather, walking long distances, and working as part of a rotating schedule across weekdays and weekends.

Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:40/15:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work around 1 in 4 Sundays at Exeter Mail Centre between 12:00pm and 18:00pm.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
