Job summary

Royal Mail in Ascot is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour week schedule, across Monday to Sunday with 8:00–15:00 shifts. You’ll work outdoors, drive a Royal Mail van, and build relationships with customers in your local area.

The role is permanent, with rotating shifts including weekends. Full training is provided, and benefits vary with contract length and start date.

Qualifications

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self‑motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
