Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie in Wallingford to deliver letters and parcels across the local area. You will work a rotating schedule, including some weekends, with a rota that confirms hours and routes. Training is provided, and you’ll use a uniform and a red Royal Mail van.

The role is outdoor, physically demanding, and requires a full UK driving licence, reliability, and excellent customer service. Overtime is paid. This is a permanent full-time position located at Wallingford Delivery Office.

Qualifications

• Must have a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) linked to your name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and act as the face of Royal Mail.

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37:00 hours per week - working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

Mon,Tues 07:12-15:12, Wed,Thurs 07:24-15:24, Fri 07:09-15:09, Sat 06:27-14:27. Sun 08:15-16:15

There may be a requirement to cover a different shift when needed 12:00-20:00
