Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Kidlington is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels in the local area on a rotating shift, including some weekends. You will sort mail, drive a Royal Mail van, and build relationships with customers, working outdoors in all weather.

This fixed-term role requires a full UK driving licence, physical fitness for long walking distances, and a willingness to work 37 hours per week across 5 days. Comprehensive training and benefits apply.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week - working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07.29/14:11*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work 1 in 6 Sundays at KidlingtonDelivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
