Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Telford to join our delivery team. This fixed-term contract spans 10 months, with a 30-hour workweek and a rotating schedule including weekends. You’ll deliver letters and parcels, using a Royal Mail van, and represent the brand in the community.

Applicants must hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be willing to pass a driving assessment. You will work outdoors, in all weather, and on varying routes.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated

• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Location: Oakengates Delivery Office, TF2 6AE

Job type: Fixed Term contract 10 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Tweedale Delivery Office TF7 4RB.
