Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Hounslow to join a fast-paced delivery team. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot across your local area, building relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather.

The role involves a 30-hour week with rotating shifts and some weekend work, paid £16.24 per hour with overtime. You'll receive full training, a uniform, and the iconic red van, with a rota that may vary by demand.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.

Location: Hounslow Delivery Office, TW3 1AA

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00 to 14:00 or 14:00 to 20:00.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
