Job summary

Royal Mail Brentwood Delivery Office is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. The role covers Brentwood, 30 hours per week across a rotating shift, including Sundays, with early starts 07:00-15:00 and potential overtime.

Full training provided and you will deliver letters and parcels using a Royal Mail van in your local area. You'll need a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points), be physically able to walk long distances, and enjoy working

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:00/15:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Brentwood Delivery Office.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
