Job summary

Quo Vadis Trust is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to support adults across our Croydon and South-East London services. You will build positive relationships, understand each person's history and needs, and help them set realistic goals to develop daily living skills and move toward greater independence.

You will work 35 hours per week on days with some night shifts per rota, receive a company-funded enhanced DBS check, and access statutory and specialist training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mental health or another supportive environment.
  • Understanding of mental health, learning disabilities, homelessness and substance misuse.
  • Strong written, verbal and customer-service skills.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility and resilience.
  • GCSE-level English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Basic IT skills and experience using client-management systems.
  • Availability to work unsociable hours when required.
  • Please note that this position does not qualify for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients understand welfare benefits, housing and available services.
  • Respond professionally to incidents and behaviours that challenge, using effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports when required.
  • Carry out room, property and health and safety checks.
  • Support clients with daily living, housekeeping and moving into or out of accommodation.
  • Work with healthcare professionals, external agencies and colleagues.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
  • Travel between Quo Vadis Trust services when required.

The role

Quo Vadis Trust is looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to support adults across our services in Croydon and South-East London. You will build positive relationships, understand each person's history and needs, and help them set realistic goals. Your support will enable clients to develop everyday skills, manage their tenancies and move towards greater independence.
