Job summary

mydentist is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of projects within our Tech & Transformation team at the Support Centre in Greater Manchester. The role is a hybrid arrangement, ideally including one day a week in the office, and a 12-month FTC, full-time (37 hours).

You will drive strategic planning, governance, budgets and stakeholder engagement to maximise value across the portfolio, collaborating with Project Managers and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has proven experience leading portfolios in health services or retail environments.
• Understanding of IT transformation and people change methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the portfolio roadmap aligned with organisational objectives.
• Prioritise initiatives based on strategic value, risk, and resource availability.
• Build and maintain portfolio plans, tracking against plan and explaining deviations.
• Enforce portfolio governance frameworks, standards, and processes set by PMO.
• Manage portfolio budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Line manage and develop Project Managers, offering task management and line management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation and delivery excellence.
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders within the pillar and report to senior leadership.
