Job summary

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of Circle Health Group, is hiring a Porter to join the Portering team. This permanent role is part-time at 30 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern.

You will move patients, equipment and goods, greet and escort visitors, and help maintain patient comfort and security while complying with mandatory training. A front-line, customer-focused approach and PC familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Front line customer facing experience.
• GCSE Maths and English at A–C or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC and hospital software/systems.
• Portering experience in healthcare, hotel, or hospitality is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks to move patients, equipment and goods.
• Escort and explain hospital facilities to patients and families.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity at all times.
• Provide security for the facility and assist with security processes.

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in the Portering department.

This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
