Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Porter (Bank) at Priory Hospital in Birmingham to support porterage duties on an on-call basis. The role covers patient, equipment and goods movement, escorting patients, and maintaining patient comfort and safety within the hospital environment.

The ideal candidate has front line customer facing experience; portering experience in healthcare or hospitality is preferred. GCSEs in Maths and English at A-C, PC software skills, and a flexible, customer-focused

Qualifications

• Front line customer facing experience required.
• Previous portering experience in healthcare, hotel or hospitality beneficial.
• Maths and English GCSEs A-C or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in PC software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks to support the site, including movement of patients, equipment and goods.
• Escort patients and families, explaining hospital facilities and services as needed.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity is maintained at all times.
• Provide facility security per hospital requirements and assist with security processes.
• Complete mandatory training as required.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in thePorteringdepartment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
