Job summary

Karma Group seeks a Porter & Maintenance Team Member for a beachfront hotel on the Isles of Scilly. This hands-on role supports day-to-day hotel operations, welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, and keeping public areas clean and well presented.

You will perform basic repairs, painting and general upkeep, report larger issues to the General Manager, and help ensure high standards across hotel facilities. Live-in accommodation and meals are provided, with gratuities and future opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and assisting with luggage and belongings
• Assisting with guest arrival and departure
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of public areas
• Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs around the hotel
• Assisting with painting, decorating and upkeep
• Reporting larger maintenance issues to the General Manager
• Ensuring the hotel, grounds and facilities are kept to a high standard
• Responding to guest and team requests
• Managing own time and priorities
• Working safely during busy periods
• Supporting other departments as needed

We are looking for a Porter & Maintenance Team Member to join the team at a stunning beachfront hotel on the Isles of Scilly.

Your Role

As a Porter & Maintenance Team Member, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the hotel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests and assisting with luggage and belongings
  
• Helping guests with their arrival and departure
  
• Keeping public areas around the hotel clean, tidy and well presented
  
• Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs around the hotel
  
• Assisting with painting, decorating and general upkeep where required
  
• Identifying and reporting larger maintenance issues to the General Manager
  
• Helping to ensure the hotel, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard
  
• Responding positively to guest and team requests
  
• Managing your own time and priorities effectively
  
• Working efficiently and safely, even during busy periods
  
• Supporting other departments and the wider hotel team when required
  

This is a hands-on and varied role, so a willingness to get stuck in and help wherever needed is essential.
