Job summary

Karma Group is seeking a Porter & Maintenance Team Member for its stunning Isles of Scilly hotel for the 2026 season. This hands-on role involves assisting guests, carrying luggage, and maintaining the hotel and grounds with a proactive, can-do attitude.

You will be part of a friendly team, receive live-in accommodation, meals, and share in gratuities and guest programs. The season runs until November 2026 with potential return in 2027 and opportunities to work in other Karma Group locations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, practical, hardworking and willing to help wherever needed.
• Comfortable with basic repairs and painting/decorating.
• Physically fit with ability to lift and carry.
• Well organized and able to manage own workload.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and assisting with luggage and belongings.
• Helping guests with arrival and departure.
• Keeping public areas clean, tidy and well presented.
• Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs.

• Identifying and reporting larger maintenance issues to the General Manager.

We are looking for a Porter & Maintenance Team Member to join the team at a stunning beachfront hotel on the Isles of Scilly.

Your Role

As a Porter & Maintenance Team Member, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the hotel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests and assisting with luggage and belongings
  
• Helping guests with their arrival and departure
  
• Keeping public areas around the hotel clean, tidy and well presented
  
• Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs around the hotel
  
• Assisting with painting, decorating and general upkeep where required
  
• Identifying and reporting larger maintenance issues to the General Manager
  
• Helping to ensure the hotel, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard
  
• Responding positively to guest and team requests
