Job summary

The Atlantic Hotel in Cornwall is seeking a reliable Day Porter to help keep public areas and conference spaces spotless. You will greet guests, assist with enquiries, and support luggage and porterage duties during daytime and night shifts.

This permanent, full-time role requires a flexible approach, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and presentation. GCSEs are preferred, with emphasis on professional, courteous service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and assist with enquiries and requests.
• Set up conference rooms and public areas as required.
• Assist with luggage and general porterage duties.
• Prepare public areas to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Support other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

We are currently seeking a reliable and flexible candidate to join our team as a Day Porter. This is a varied and hands-on role, supporting the smooth operation of the hotel across both daytime and overnight shifts.

Please note, this is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional welcome to guests and assist with enquiries and requests.
• Set up conference rooms and public areas as required.
• Assist with luggage, guest requests and general porterage duties.
• Prepare public areas and facilities to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Support other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Respond calmly and efficiently to any issues or emergencies.
