Job summary

The Beardwood Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, invites applications for a Porter to join its portering team. This full-time role is 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern including early, mid, and weekend coverage.

The salary is up to £24,953.24 per year, depending on level of experience, training and qualifications. You will undertake a range of general duties such as moving patients, equipment and goods around the site, escorting people to rooms, and explaining hospital

Qualifications

• Maths GCSE at grade A–C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• English GCSE at grade A–C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including basic software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general and ad hoc tasks to move patients, equipment and goods around the site.
• Escort patients to rooms and explain hospital facilities and services.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are maintained.
• Provide security for the facility and comply with security processes.
• Complete relevant mandatory training.

The Beardwood Hospital Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in thePorteringdepartment.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.Shift pattern will be 0600 - 1400 or 1000 - 1800.

There may be the requirement for infrequent Saturday shift cover 1000 - 1800 and Sunday 0700 – 1500.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
