Job summary

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of Circle Health Group, is recruiting a Porter on Bank shifts. This “as and when required” role supports busy periods and covers for regular staff during annual leave or absence.

You will move patients, equipment and goods, escort patients to rooms, provide a courteous service, maintain patient dignity, and follow hospital security and training requirements. Basic PC skills and GCSEs in Maths/English are expected.

• Front line customer facing experience required.
• Proficiency with a PC and hospital systems.
• Maths and English GCSEs at A-C or equivalent required.

Overview

Porter (Bank) at The Alexandra Hospital Bank Shifts. In Cheadle is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in thePorteringdepartment. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
