The Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Porter on a bank, as-needed basis. You will support patient, equipment and goods movement, escort patients, and maintain patient comfort and safety across shifts.

Experience in healthcare, hotel, or hospitality settings is beneficial. The role requires basic Maths/English GCSEs and PC proficiency, with duties including night shift support for theatres when needed.

• Night shift: assist with cleaning, sterilisation and preparation of theatres.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in thePortering department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Night Shift Only: You may be required to support with cleaning, sterilisation and preparation of surgical theatres.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
