Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting for a Security Officer (Female and Male) at the Port of Southampton. The role operates on 12-hour shifts and requires a valid SIA license and a full driving license (manual or automatic). The port is staffed year-round and training is provided.

You will protect port facilities and restricted areas in line with ISPS and site instructions, respond to incidents, and maintain high standards of customer service while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA License
• Must hold a full Driving License (Manual or Automatic)
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts: 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights

Responsibilities

• Protect port facilities and restricted areas in line with ISPS code.
• Protect client's property, people and assets per site AI instructions.
• Be alert and responsive to keep port and facilities secure at all times.
• Maintain a keen eye for detail and spot abnormal activities.
• Gate house duties: operate gates and barriers for access control.
• Search persons, vehicles and plant equipment as required.
• Issue/check passes and patrol restricted areas as directed.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Respond to incidents per supervision/management instructions.
• Ensure the port remains secure at all times.
• Full training provided; opportunities for additional site-specific training.
