Job summary

Carlisle Support Services seeks dedicated security professionals for port environments in Liverpool. You will provide a visible security presence, conduct searches of drivers, vehicles and passengers, and verify credentials to maintain safe access control.

The role requires an SIA licence, 18+ eligibility, and a willingness to undertake ISPS training during induction. The position offers full training, ongoing development, and a supportive team at the port, with 4 on 4 off shifts from 7pm to 7am

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older (legal requirement for front-line licensable activity).
• SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence required.
• Ability to provide a 5-year checkable work and address history.
• Willingness to complete ISPS Code Course during induction (mandatory).
• Comfortable conducting vehicle, trailer, cab and personnel searches.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, visible and proactive security presence across the port.
• Conduct vehicle searches (primarily HGVs) including driver cab and cargo areas.
• Conduct driver and visitor searches per site procedures and security requirements.
• Verify passes, permits, accreditation and ID for authorised access.
• Control access and egress points to ensure authorised entry/exit of people and vehicles.
• Perform security patrols across the port, including areas with moving vehicles and maritime equipment.
• Monitor for security breaches, hazards, and safety concerns; escalate as needed.
