Carlisle Support Services is hiring for a port security role in Eastham. You will provide a visible security presence, conduct vehicle and driver searches, verify access, and support safe operation across the port.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid SIA licence, a full UK driving licence with 2+ years experience, and be capable of working outdoors in all weather while remaining calm under pressure. Training and ongoing development are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
• Ability to provide 5-year checkable work and address history.
• Willingness to complete ISPS Code Course as part of induction.

Responsabilités

• Provide professional, visible security across the port.
• Conduct vehicle searches (primarily HGVs) including inspections of driver cabs, trailers and cargo areas.
• Conduct driver and visitor searches per site procedures.
• Verify passes, permits and IDs to ensure authorised access.
• Control access and egress points for people and vehicles.
• Perform security patrols in port areas with moving equipment.
• Monitor for breaches, hazards and safety concerns and escalate.
• Collaborate with Port Police, Border Force and other stakeholders.
• Assist drivers, visitors, contractors and employees as a first contact.
• Manage incidents professionally and maintain control during conflicts.
• Follow all security and operational procedures.
• Work with the wider security team and internal port relationships.
