Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Midwife to lead and coordinate the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) across maternity services. The role partners with the Governance and Safety Team and Bereavement Midwives to ensure compassionate, coordinated reviews that embed learning into clinical practice in line with national standards.

Qualifications

Evidence of good written and oral communication skills, including giving presentations, and chairing meetings.
Experience in quality improvement in a clinical setting.
Experience supporting bereavement care or maternity services is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all elements of the PMRT review process within the maternity service.
Ensure reviews are completed within timeframes and align with PSIRF and risk management processes.
Facilitate and chair multidisciplinary PMRT meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with Bereavement Midwives to notify MBRRACE and ensure family voices inform the review.
Conduct detailed assessments of care leading up to perinatal loss and align with guidelines.
Translate PMRT learning into measurable improvements in clinical care and education.
