Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 6 Perinatal Mortality and Safety Coordinator. This 12-month secondment is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a 0.2 WTE clinical component and participation in the on‑call roster within the Maternity Directorate.

The post coordinates PMR data collection, investigations and governance learning, ensuring reviews align with CNST requirements and the Trust PSIRF framework.

Qualifications

• Experience of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Mentorship of students.
• Advocate for women, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Patient Safety Midwives to identify any deaths eligible for the Perinatal Mortality Review (PMR) Process.
• Coordinate perinatal mortality reviews using the PMRT and liaise with the Patient Safety Midwives.
• Support Bereavement midwives to ensure PMR deaths are reported to MBBRACE per CNST requirements.
• Undertake rapid reviews of perinatal deaths to identify safety concerns with a senior clinician and raise issues when needed.
