Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a Teaching Assistant (PMLD) in Newham for a primary school. You will support pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, working with teachers, therapists and support staff to help learners access the curriculum and achieve individual goals.

The role is full-time term-time only with pay ranging from 95 to 105 per day depending on experience and specialist skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
• Assist with communication using PECS, communication boards, eye gaze and other AAC systems.
• Support sensory learning activities.
• Provide personal care where required.
• Promote independence and social interaction.
• Follow programmes set by teachers and therapists.
• Monitor pupil progress and engagement.
• Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
