Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 9–18 with PMLD, ASD and complex physical needs at a specialist school in Newham, London. Start date September 2026. Contract: Full-time, term-time only, with a daily pay rate of £95–£105.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, deliver sensory-based learning activities, support communication using PECS, Makaton and AAC, and assist with personal care, feeding and mobility.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience as a PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant or similar.
• Strong understanding of ASD, PMLD and complex needs.
• Confident with personal care duties.
• Calm, resilient and hands-on approach.
• Ready to step into a role where your experience matters.

We're looking for an experienced PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 9-18 with PMLD, ASD, and complex physical needs in a specialist Newham school.

Job Title: PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: London Borough of Newham

Pay: £95-£105 per day

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
