Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Location: Coventry

Salary: £80 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties? Do you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of secondary-aged students? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and specialist team at a thriving secondary school in Coventry. You will work closely with teaching staff to support students aged 11-19 with complex learning needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.

Responsibilities

1. Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD
2. Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility where required
3. Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
4. Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
5. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support

Requirements

1. Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or SEND is desirable
2. A caring, patient, and resilient attitude
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills
4. Willingness to assist with personal care and medical needs
5. Relevant qualifications (or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential
